Just before 9:30 p.m. on August 17, an adult female victim was pulled into nearby bushes by the suspect in the 8700 block of Sacramento Drive, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
Police said the suspect sexually assaulted the woman at gunpoint, before she was able to break free and the suspect ran off.
The victim went to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries and police began their search for the suspect, authorities said.
The suspect was described as a man, of an unknown race, who was between 5'8 and 6'0, officials reported.
When he attacked the victim, he was wearing all black, with gloves and a black mask covering his head, police said.
Anyone with information, or anyone with surveillance footage of the area on August 17, is eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 and should contact police at 703-246-7800
